Welcome to my astrological playground

After dabbling for many years, I started studying astrology in-depth at the beginning of 2024. As I learned, I created the website AstroLiberation which offers free reports and astro-education for people who want to use astrology in their healing, growth, and self-liberation process.

I still consider myself a student of astrology and am learning right now through Nightlight. I have studied a few other types of astrology including evolutionary (Jeffrey Wolf Green) and modern psychological (Liz Greene). Right now I’m interested in a deeper understanding of the roots of Hellenistic astrology which is what Nightlight teaches.

What is liberation?

Liberation means freedom, but freedom from what?

In self-liberation, we are freeing ourselves from karma and conditioning.

Liberation from conditioning is undoing the layers of internalized limitations that are restricting the full and free expression of who we authentically are.

Liberation from karma is awakening to our power to change our fate and empowering ourselves to respond to life differently to mitigate the negative effects of past actions that show up in our lives as external events.

In collective liberation, we are freeing society from systems of oppression and hierarchies of power as well as dismantling cultural narratives and norms that inhibit personal freedom and encourage self-judgement and self-rejection.

Liberation from cultural narratives and norms is rejecting the idea that we are supposed to be a certain way, and rediscovering who we naturally are.

Liberation from systems of power is using collective action to fight oppressive systems, unjust laws, and authoritarian leadership.

Liberating astrology itself

Astrology as a field has been suppressed and marginalized for two millennia, first by Christianity that rejected it as magic, and later by scientific materialism which dismissed it as superstition.

I want to understand and help others understand astrology as the mystical system it originally was in the ancient world of Babylonia, Egypt, and Greece in which it arose.

About me as a writer

This isn’t my first Substack—that is over at Sparkly Dark. I try to not babble astrology at people who didn’t consent to it, so I had to start a second one. 😂

I’ve been a personal growth enthusiast for most of my life, so I always come to astrology through that lens. I became more political when I married a prisoner in 2013—that story is over here.
